George James Knox

George James Knox was born in England in 1810. A painter of landscapes and coastal scenes in watercolour, Knox exhibited his work from 1830 to 1859 at the Royal Academy, the British Institute and the Suffolk Street Galleries.

He died in 1897 at the age of 87.

His subjects include views of the Isle of Wight, Lundy Island and the Thames. Examples of his work can be found at the Royal Academy including paintings entitled, "On the Thames near Putney" and "View near Periguex".
