Tanya Vanessa Foster
Tanya is a Fine Art Painter, living and working in the UK. Born in Nottingham in 1972 Tanya comes from an artistic background, her mother was a textile designer and her father a violinist.
She studied at Lincoln, Loughborough and The Slade School of Art, London.
In 1993 Tanya held her first solo show in Repton, followed by shows at The Raw Art Gallery in London in 1994, The Byard Gallery, Nottingham in 1995 and a series of private shows.
After a reclusive decade, in which she sold her work almost exclusively to existing clients, Tanya returned to public exhibiting with an acclaimed show at The Festival International de Musique de Chambre en Charente, France 2011, winning a prize at the Castle Open Exhibition in Nottingham, 2012.
She is an inveterate traveller and over the last seven years her painting has begun to reflect her experiences around the Eastern Mediterranean, particularly Cyprus, Istanbul and Eastern Turkey.
Tanya has recently embarked on a new series of London paintings, rekindling an old love for the city and its people that was born during her time at the Slade.
She returns to The Fletcher Gate Fine Art Gallery where she held a ‘Sell Out’ show in 2014.
