Professor Mike Healey
Born 1951
Mike Healey is best known for his fresh still lifes, snow scenes & seascapes. A true painter of the Scottish School, Mike studied under John Cunningham at the Glasgow School of Art, winning the Haldane Travelling Scholarship & the Leverhulme Travelling Scholarship. In the early 1980's he was appointed senior lecturer at the Glasgow School of Art where he worked until 1997. Mike now divides his time between his Argyll studio, painting trips & teaching at Lincoln University, where he was awarded a personal professorial chair in Art & Design in 2003.
Professor Healey has exhibited extensively throughout his career in his native Scotland & in London, New York, Philadelphia, Maryland, Bermuda & Japan. His work can be found in several public, corporate & private collection worldwide including the Glasgow School of Art, the European Parliament, the Royal Mail, Woburn Abbey, the Argyll & Bute Museum & Libraries, the Scottish Education Departement & The Collection, Bermuda, under the patronship of HRH the Prince of Wales.
